Massachusetts Launched A Revolution 250 Years Ago

NO TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION!

YET thousands of MA property owners pay their neighbors taxes
against their will and with no vote through the Residential Tax Exemption

MPRTA’s aim is simple

To achieve fair and equitable taxation throughout MA while ensuring property tax relief to those who need it.

MPRTA has a better tax toolkit

We propose a seven point action plan you can use to get better tax relief and solid tax fairness to property owners in Seasonal Communities

We CAN Change This –
We SHOULD Change This

MA has identified 43 Seasonal Communities and allows them to impose up to a 50% RTE tax surcharge onto part-timers.

So far, only 23 seasonal communities have adopted the RTE – 328 other communities have not. In every “RTE” community, the RTE is divisive and pits neighbor against neighbor. It has never been proven to be effective. It shifts the RTE tax discount unfairly onto part-timers, benefits wealthy folks who do not need tax relief, and sucks vital revenues from every “Non-RTE” community.

There are better ways to provide tax relief to our neighbors who need it.
